Building Global Cooperation
  The Program

Welcome to the program Building Global Cooperation!

Building Global Cooperation is designed as a common working program that stimulates and supports collective learning and mutual understanding. It aims at bringing together eminent persons and young leaders from business, politics and civil society.

The Wittenberg Center for Global Ethics offers both an organizational platform as well as a conceptual framework for cooperation in modern societies, which are determined by global market economy and competition. The program aims at changing paradigms in order to promote consciousness for global issues, mutual dependencies, and worldwide inclusion as well as commitment for individual and collective action. This approach is based on the idea that despite a plurality of different values and individual perspectives, ethical core principles such as mutual respect, trust and true partnership support mutually beneficial interchange. ETHICAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING

The program aims at fostering capacity building and enhancing Ethical leadership qualities at the international system and particularly among the current and future generation African Leaders. The overall goal is to prepare future leaders and decision makers as well young leaders to acquire ethical tools and concepts to prepare themselves to face current and future challenges. The very importance of a dynamic and modern society requires both present and aspiring Leaders to be equipped with the necessary tools for understanding the complexity and interrelatedness of the different sectors in their society. The Center is at the forefront of creating an “African Future Leadership fellowship”, where emerging Leaders are gradually introduced to the ethics and values of responsibility, good governance, and entrepreneurial spiritedness in development. This concept does not claim to negate the traditional African institutional values and mechanisms, rather it explore the possibility of incorporating essential ideas of tradition into the evolving conditions of modernity for the articulation of the future.

This program is projected to encompass a series of conferences, dialogue forums, training workshops, young leader seminars and summer schools to be jointly organized between the WCGE and its Partners. It will comprise of participants from business, politics, academia, media and civil society. It focuses on conveying the central concepts of modern ethical thought and fostering entrepreneurial action. This program is currently being championed by the President of  Madagascar.
